New Smyrna, FL – Winter arrived on a Saturday afternoon in Florida this year.  Just so happens to be the same Saturday as the first Super Late Model race of the 2017 season — today.  It is a chilly and breezy Saturday afternoon here at New Smyrna Speedway and although we were met with the wet stuff falling from the sky, the forecast shows it drying up and we should be good to go for the practice session and race time.  The Red-Eye 100 will kick off the 2017 racing season and it will bring out a pool of talented drivers for the first race of the season.  While it’s snowing in most posts of the country, Florida is the place to be in January to shake down your cars and see where you’ll stack up with the other drivers/teams for the 2017 season.   Dylan Martin has been prepping his Super Late Model along with Chad Pierce, Patrick Rickman, Brandon Martin and Michael Martin.  It’s a family affair this season.  It will bring a season of new challenges, but with that comes new achievements.  Dylan has returned from North Carolina with a better understanding and knowledge base that he can take into the 2017 season.  We are excited about what is ahead for this year.   We know that as much skill as racing takes, it takes that much luck too.  We’re looking for a lucky season full of skill.  With the right side damage repaired from Governor’s Cup and the car being dusted off from only racing one race with it in 2016, we are looking forward to a active and fun 2017.  We will share updates of tonight’s race at
