Concord, North Carolina (October 16, 2017) – Twenty-year old rookie driver Natalie Decker will wrap up her whirlwind season when she takes the wheel in Friday night’s ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Kansas 150 season finale at Kansas Speedway.
Decker, a favorite among fans of all ages, returns to the seat for the seventh time this season. Despite having raced Pocono’s superspeedway twice this season Kansas marks just the second time the magnetic driver will race on a mile and half surface so far during her young career.
“This has been a dream season for me and I couldn’t be more excited to finish the year at Kansas Speedway,” says Decker.
Decker went on to say, “Preparing for this race (Kansas 150) has been priority number one since leaving Kentucky. Besides watching film and going over my last race at Kentucky with my crew chief (Dave Leiner) I took advantage of some seat time in Toyota’s race simulator last week. On-track testing has been limited so getting behind the wheel of the simulator gives me a realistic view of what to expect next week at Kansas.”
Decker, a popular Midwest late model driver, jumped onto the ARCA scene in May finishing 11th in her series debut at Toledo Speedway. In six ARCA national touring events the dynamic female driver has posted two top-10 finishes highlighted by a career best seventh place finish at Road America.
“We’ve run a bit of everything the (ARCA) series offers – short tracks, an intermediate track, Pocono and of course the road course race at Road America. I’m still learning a lot – I feel we’ve made huge gains from the beginning of the season and as I continue to log laps and gain valuable experience the more I’m adapting to feel of the ARCA car.”
