Andrew Ladd

The Chicago Blackhawks acquired forward Andrew Ladd in a trade with the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.

Ladd, who won the Stanley Cup with the Blackhawks in 2010, can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

Winnipeg receives forward Marko Dano and a first-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft, as well as a conditional pick in 2018.

Chicago also received defenseman Jay Harrison and forward Matt Fraser, who will be sent to Rockford of the American Hockey League.

Ladd, 30, had been the Jets’ captain since the 2010-11 season. He has 17 goals and 17 assists in 59 games for Winnipeg this season, his sixth with the Jets/Atlanta Thrashers.

He was scratched from the game against the Dallas Stars on Thursday. The Blackhawks host the Nashville Predators. Ladd has 202 goals and 454 points in 750 NHL games with the Jets, Blackhawks and Carolina Hurricanes.

Dano, 21, was acquired by the Blackhawks in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets this offseason. He played 13 games for Chicago, scoring one goal.

He was the No. 27 pick in the 2013 NHL Draft. Harrison, 33, played 35 games for the Jets last season. Fraser, 25, last played in the NHL last season for the Edmonton Oilers.
