Anyone from a weekend duffer to the most seasoned PGA Tour pro can tell you that golf is a finicky, temperamental game.
After Justin Thomas won the last two events, last week by a phenomenal seven shots, Hudson Swofford barely survived to defeat Canadian Adam Hardin by one stroke at The Stadium Course in LaQuinta, California.
The Career Builder Challenge Champion admitted that he may have played his best round of golf on Saturday before having difficulty on the last three holes.
As if to illustrate his point, Swofford, a Lakeland, Florida native three-putted the first hole Sunday. However, by the time Swofford turned to play the Back Nine, “I said (to my caddy) this is going to be a good day.”
After signing his scorecard which recorded his one-stroke victory, Swofford proved prophetic and pocketed the $1,044,000.000 Winners check.
